The word אִמָא—Hebrew for Mother—carries warmth, wisdom, and a love that transcends time. Our אִמָא Necklace was designed as a tribute to that bond. Made entirely by hand in San Diego’s Diamond District, it is a quiet yet powerful piece that celebrates motherhood in its purest form.
When we began designing this necklace, we knew it had to carry emotional weight without being loud. We started with a block of recycled 14K gold, chosen for its rich tone and ethical origin. Using delicate hand tools and under a precision magnifier, we carefully sketched and hand-sawed each Hebrew letter: אִמָא. These characters are not cast or machine-cut—they are shaped slowly by hand, one curve and corner at a time. The diacritical marks (nikkud) are especially intricate, requiring the steadiest hands and finest blades to form.
Once the nameplate was shaped and filed, it went through a multi-step polishing process to reveal its soft, luminous finish. A matching gold chain—selected for its balance and strength—completes the piece. The final necklace is delicate yet substantial, sentimental yet refined.
