Hand-crafted in the San Diego Diamond District & Jewelry Exchange, this necklace marries ancient symbolism with contemporary finesse: an 8 mm 14K yellow-gold Hamsa—set with a single luminous pearl—gently framed by a constellation of vivid sapphire beads.
Our process begins long before metal meets flame. We sketch the Hamsa’s contour on vellum, refining the curve of each finger so it feels protective yet elegant. A master wax carver then translates that sketch into a miniature sculpture no larger than a thumbnail.
Using the lost-wax casting method, we pour molten 14K gold into the mold, capturing every subtle ridge. After cooling, each charm is hand-filed and polished beneath a magnifying loupe until the gold gleams like dawn light.
The pearl—chosen for its gentle luster and round perfection—is set into a precisely carved cradle, then secured with a hand-bright-cut bezel so it appears to float.
Next comes the ritual of color. We pour trays of loose sapphires onto white linen and evaluate them one by one, matching shades of deep ocean blue to create a harmonious gradient.
Threading the stones is an exercise in patience: a whisper-thin gold wire passes through each bead, linking them in a rhythmic dance of light and hue that brings the necklace to life.
Finally, we test the drape on a model bust, ensuring the charm sits at the heart’s center and the sapphires catch the light with every breath. Only then do we hallmark, polish once more, and prepare the piece for its new guardian—you.
